Tom Davis
A successful season starts with your training in the off season. Tom Davis is one of the USEA ICP certified instructors that remains in New England during the winter months. He has been teaching clinics throughout New England for over 18 years. Based on the USEA ICP teaching methods, these clinics help riders improve their body mechanics, which results in better quality work from their horses. Tom has a busy clinic schedule, teaching off the property up to three weekends a month, when not coaching. These clinics allow him to work with students that are not able to travel to him for regular weekly lessons. During the competition season, he is able to continue working these Clinic students at events.
SUNDAY, OCTOBER 8th, 2023 45 minutes - $120 ($25.00 WSE horse) Hello, my name is Lisa Weis, dressage instructor and horse trainer. I enjoy teaching and training a wide variety of people and their horses. My main passion is good horsemanship with over 30 years experience in dressage, eventing, young horse training, developing horses, and riders through the levels and farm management. I currently train out of the Pacific Northwest area north of Seattle. My credentials include, USDF L Graduate with Distinction, USDF Certified Instructor/Trainer, USDF Bronze and Silver Medalist, Bachelors of Education, Potomac Horse Center Graduate, Arizona FEI Reserve Champion of the Year 2017 on Valentino, in 2012, 3rd in the Nation Materiale Division on Won Chance. My younger years began in Alaska where I had the opportunity of taking jumping and dressage lessons from Minot Howard who was from Connecticut. Minot Howard had a good background in jumping and was long listed to ride in the 1962 Olympic Games. I later attended a career course in Maryland at the Potomac Horse Center. There I achieved the highest grade point average among my class in riding, teaching and management. Fortunately, I experienced a variety of learning opportunities. One of the most valuable positions was with Gerd Zuther in Massachusetts. I worked with Gerd and his wife Yvonne two different times, totaling a over a year. I have also worked with Dorie Vlatten-Schmitz and Ulrich Schmitz in Arizona a number of times and have gained successful employment at their farm throughout the years. Wolfgang Scherzer has been another instructor of mine for over 2o years. For the past four years I have been riding with Lilo Fore. One of my favorite positions in my life was held at Arrowhead Farm on Martha’s Vineyard where I worked for eight years. My former employers, Charlene and Robert Douglas remain very special to me as well as all the people I met and worked with along the way. I plan on visiting Martha’s Vineyard for clinics. Hope to see you soon!
